Petts Wood is located to the north west of Orpington and is renowned for its large expanse of Woodland, which is owned and managed by the National Trust.

Transport:

Petts Wood station serves the area with services to London Victoria via Herne Hill, London Charing Cross via Grove Park, London Cannon Street via Lewisham, Orpington and Sevenoaks. Petts Wood is served by several Transport for London bus services connecting it with areas including Bromley, Biggin Hill, Catford, Chislehurst, Hither Green, Lewisham, Orpington and St Mary Cray.

It is also well served for road transport with the M25 London orbital, the M20 for the Shuttle and the M2 for the Channel ports within 15 minutes’ drive.

Shops and Retail:

Petts Wood is split in 2 by the railway line into Petts Wood East and West, both have a shopping centre with the larger shops on the west side. Most of the shops are small local businesses serving the community. Petts Wood is also a hotspot for diners looking for some exciting cuisine with many fine restaurants including Indian, Italian, Cantonese, Turkish, Cyprus and Greece to name but a few.

Education:

Petts Wood has many extremely popular schools including the highly rated Crofton Infant School and Bishop Justus Church of England School and Southborough Primary School.

Leisure:

As the name Petts Wood suggest, there is a vast woodland area separating Petts Wood from Chislehurst, which is part of the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife and full of local history. Petts Wood is also home of Willett Recreation Ground, which consists of children’s play area, cricket pitch, bowling greens and tennis courts.
